The Sports Clinic

Havens Hospices have teamed up with Paul and Chris from the Sports Clinic Bluewater to help out with all things running. There is some info below on the two guys and how to contact them – I’m sure there are many runners who have benefited from both their knowledge and skills on the run up to the big day!

Chris Domoney – Sports Masseur

Chris is a level two Athletics coach and experienced personal trainer. He has run all five world major marathons (New York, Boston, Berlin, London and Chicago) as well as numerous others.

Chris is an experienced full time masseur working as team masseur to Brentford F.C, prior to this he worked for Gillingham F.C and was also at Ebbsfleet United when they won the F.A.trophy at Wembley defeating Torquay United in 2008. Among Chris’s clients feature a World Champion Powerlifter, current GB Junior Athletes and two potential 2012 Olympians. He recently featured on Sky’s Active Channel.

This is the forth year Chris has been involved with Little Havens. He is on hand to reply to any running, dietary or general fitness enquiries.

Paul Smith – Physiotherapist

Paul Smith is a Chartered Physiotherapist who trained at Brunel University, one of England’s best Universities for Physiotherapy.

He has been involved in professional football working at clubs in the Premier League, Championship and League one and now helps at non league level with Dover Athletic.

Since leaving football to work privately, Paul has worked with people from all sports including body builders, strong man competitors, tri-athletes and runners of various levels, from beginners to committed marathon runners.

Paul helped the Haven’s runners last year and whilst he has not been to the London Marathon before he is hoping to attend April’s to give his support.

He is also studying for his Masters Degree in Advanced Physiotherapy at Hertfordshire and is involved with setting up a clinic at the new Basildon Sports Village, opening in April 2011.
